Library Opening
Today we had our long awaited opening of our school library. We started our day with a blessing of the building and a walk through.
The teachers dressed up as crayons and read the story "The Day the Crayons Quit" to the school. We then had a small parade of the students who dressed up as their favourite book characters then we joined up with a junior class and read stories to them and vise versa. It was great to see tuakana teina happening within our school and they seemed to enjoy reading to our juniors. The teachers also swapped classes to read a story too.
It is so good to have our library up and running again and we look forward to getting our own books out next week.

Hi room 5-6 im Shay from yaldhurst model school and I love this because you guys are not just having fun but your also learning at the same time and also I love seeing all of you guys happy in the photos you guys have poste up o your blog but did you think about maybe add less photos bocuse it takes long time to watch them all and the people who watch it may get bored and I also have a question why did you guys get a new school library??? and I will love to see more of the things thats going on at you guys school Bye.
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you for your comment. It was a fun day. We had to get a new library as we needed to change it's location (where our old library was is now a classroom), and it was time for a make over too.

ReplyDeleteI think it is great that you are re-opening the library at your school. I have read the book ´the day the crayons quit´ it is a funny book. It looks like you all had a fun time reading, and that you are excited to get books out from the library. It is good that you are reading, because it can be fun to read great books and you might even learn some new things
